Carroll Woman Charged With Eluding And Child Endangerment Scheduled For Trial In October

A Carroll woman charged in District Court for Carroll County for allegedly eluding law enforcement with a child in her vehicle is scheduled for trial in October. According to court records, 20-year-old Kylie Nicole Armstrong filed her written not guilty pleas to eluding or attempting to elude, a serious misdemeanor, and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor, on Tuesday. Armstrong was arrested on June 25 following an attempted traffic stop. A Carroll Police Department affidavit claims an officer initiated the stop on Armstrong’s vehicle for failure to display registration plates. Authorities say she ignored the officer’s lights and sirens until finally stopping in the 700 block of Granada Road. Law enforcement located an infant in an unrestrained car seat, a glass smoking device and suspected narcotics during a search of her vehicle. Her jury trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Oct. 20 with a pretrial conference on Thursday, Sept. 24. If found guilty of both charges, Armstrong faces up to two years in prison and $8,125 in fines.
