Carroll County COVID Positives Top 190, And Healthcare Professionals Say List Of Symptoms Has Expanded

Over the course of the last five days, positive COVID-19 cases for Carroll County have risen by nine to 192, with three of these reported Sunday. Of the positives, 163 are recovered and the county has seen only one coronavirus-related death. Since the onset of the pandemic, there have been a total of 3,388 Carroll County residents tested. The Test Iowa site at St. Anthony Regional Hospital is still taking appointments, and the testing is open to anyone, not just those who are ill. For those wondering if they have COVID-19 or are suffering from some other illness, it is important to determine if this could be related to the virus. Public Health Nurse, Sara Schulte, says the symptoms of the coronavirus have been broadened over time to include much more.

Schulte says other maladies may have similar symptoms.

Even though there is so much focus on COVID-19 right now, Schulte says people need to maintain their routine healthcare. This includes the flu vaccination for protection during the upcoming season.

In the surrounding area, Crawford County is reporting 728 positive COVID-19 cases with 681 recovered and three deaths. As of Monday morning, the state of Iowa has reported 48,919 positives, 37,247 recovered cases and the death toll has climbed to 931.
