Camp Crescent Improvements Approved After More Than $28,000 Cut From Project

The Lake View City Council has awarded the contract for construction to improvements to Camp Crescent after identifying areas to reduce the project’s cost by nearly $30,000. City official held off on approving a bid at their May 4 meeting after the low bid from Ten Point Construction in Denison came in at $204,000. Administrator, Scott Peterson, says they were able to bring the project back within the $175,000 budget by working with the contractor.

The original $204,000 bid with a $28,000 change order was brought back to the council for approval at Monday’s meeting. Peterson says city officials were happy with the adjustments that had been made to the Camp Crescent project.

When completed, 16 new spaces will be added to the campground for campers and sanitary sewer lines will be installed in areas of the park that do not have functional sewers at this time.
