The City of Arcadia is reminding residents they will be conducting hydrant flushing procedures tonight (Tuesday). Starting at 6:30 p.m., the Arcadia Fire Department will be opening hydrants to dislodge sediment, rust or any other materials that have built up in the water mains. Homes and businesses may experience low water pressure and discoloration while this work is being completed. City officials note the water is safe to drink; however, residents are encouraged to avoid doing laundry to reduce the risk of damage to clothes in the wash. The fire department is expected to finish around 9 p.m. this evening. If discoloration does occur, residents should turn on multiple faucets in the home until the water runs clear.
