The Carroll Police Department was busy over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, for starters, fielding at least 28 fireworks complaints from Thursday through Monday. As a part of the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau enhanced enforcement over the weekend, they also reported three arrests on operating while intoxicated charges. The first occurred at 1:46 a.m. on July 2 as a traffic stop led to the arrest of 29-year-old Derik Koster of Breda who recorded a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.146. The next arrest was reported at 8:44 p.m. on July 4 when another traffic stop led to the arrest of 18-year-year-old Nathan Brant of Glidden, who had a BAC of 0.119. And the third, 19-year-old Grant Kraus of Carroll, was pulled over at approximately 12:38 a.m. July 5 and taken into custody after a preliminary breathalyzer recorded a BAC of 0.115.
