The Audubon County Secondary Roads Department has closed a section of 280th Street near Exira until further notice as crews work to repair a bridge spanning Sifford Creek. The crossing, which is located about one-half of a mile west of the intersection with Jay Avenue, was shut down this (Tuesday) morning. Department staff say 280th will be closed to thru traffic for the two miles between Heron and Jay Avenues, but residences there will still be accessible from the east via U.S. Highway 71. The notice from county officials lists the anticipated end date for the closure as Friday, Feb. 26, 2021.
