A Jefferson woman found herself in custody after attempting to report an underage drinking party this past weekend. The Jefferson Police Department reports that 56-year-old Sheila Rae Madson requested an officer to the 100 block of East Vest Street at approximately 10:18 p.m. Saturday to investigate the alleged underage drinking party inside a residence. The officer received permission from the home’s owner to enter and interview the juveniles present. No signs of alcohol consumption were found, but while speaking further with Madson, the officer noticed she was exhibiting signs of alcohol impairment. Madson had driven to the residence to meet the officer, so she was arrested and charged with first-offense operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor.
