Two St. Anthony Regional Hospital Auxiliary volunteers were recently presented Lifetime Achievement awards and 364 others thanked for providing a total of 24,282 hours in 2018. Last week a brunch was held to celebrate the success of a year that saw 16 new members join and assist with manning the Auxiliary Coffee and Gift Shop, staffing the visitor and reception desk in the atrium and at the surgery center, providing clerical duties, coordinating community blood drives and presenting knitted and crocheted goods to new babies and other patients. Lifetime Achievement awards were given to Virginia Hagemann and Liz Snyder, who have each been active members for 25 years. The 2018 Volunteer of the Year award went to Pat Sanders. She was selected by her peers for the hours of service she has dedicated to the volunteer organization since 1988. She has donated her time to the nursing home, to Spiritual Care, the coffee shop, served as co-president for seven years and helped organize the annual Tour of Homes. Director of St. Anthony Development, Trish Roberts, addressed the auxiliary and thanked them all for the selfless giving they do each and every day. “Thank you to each volunteer for their service to St. Anthony and our community,” she said. “An accumulation of 445,442 volunteer hours, time and talent through 2018 shows the importance of each person who serves St. Anthony.”
