Unattended Vehicle Found In The Ditch South Of Glidden Early Friday Morning

Carroll County authorities were notified at approximately 5:58 a.m. Friday morning about a single-vehicle accident south of Glidden that had allegedly occurred at around 12:45 a.m. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Timber Avenue, between 230th and 240th Streets, to find an unattended 2003 Buick LeSabre in the east ditch. An initial investigation reveals that 18-year-old Cain James Andersen of Coon Rapids was driving southbound on Timber when he went off the west side of the roadway and struck a mailbox. He then crossed the county road and entered the east ditch where the vehicle rolled over onto the top. Andersen is suspected to have sustained minor injuries. There was an estimated $1,500 in damage to the Buick and about $50 in damage to the mailbox and post. Andersen was cited for failure to report an injury accident and failure to maintain control.
