U.S. Senator, Chuck Grassley, was videotaped making floor remarks Thursday, congratulating a fellow Iowan on a tremendous accomplishment. Grassley says he is proud to see the NBA season conclude with a victory for the Toronto Raptors, and their head coach, Nick Nurse, who is a Carroll native and a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. That video can be found below. This coming Sunday, June 30, Nurse will be back in Iowa, taking part in a special welcome home party hosted by his friends, Gary and Sue Kirke, at the Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. The free event is open to the public, who will hear from Nurse, former teammates, coaches and classmates about his journey to the pinnacle of professional basketball. The voice of the Hawkeyes, Gary Dolphin, will emcee the event. The Greene Room will open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. program.
