Two People Arrested Tuesday For Allegedly Breaking Into Farm Property Near Auburn

Two people have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a farm property near Auburn and stealing items from inside the structures. According to a criminal complaint filed in District Court for Carroll County by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Joshua Adam Petersen of Carroll and 37-year-old McKensie Rae Bess of Lake City are accused of using crow bars and a tool set to gain access to buildings in the 10000 block of Mahogany Avenue after 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Peterson and Bess are charged with possession of burglary tools, an aggravated misdemeanor, and fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. Peterson has also been charged with carrying weapons for having a knife exceeding eight inches in length within reach of his person at the time of his arrest. Both individuals were released from custody on their own recognizance after appearing before a magistrate.
