A senior from Kuemper and another from Carroll High have been named the 2019 Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Carroll County Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship winners. The $250 Agriculture Scholarships were recently presented to Kuemper Senior, Megan Rotert and Parker Klocke, a senior at Carroll. Rotert is the daughter of Vicki and John (Jack) Rotert of Halbur. She will attend Iowa State University (ISU) this fall, studying Agriculture and Society as well as Ag Business. She is working toward a career in foreign affairs and agricultural politics. She wants to help struggling societies here and abroad improve their economies through sustainable agricultural practices. Klocke is the son of Steve and Laura Klocke of Templeton. He will be attending Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Ankeny, studying Agribusiness Agronomy. He wants to expand his knowledge to eventually take over his father’s farming business. The annual scholarship has been made possible through donations from Carroll-area businesses, the Carroll County Cattlemen and the proceeds raised during a special livestock auction in 1987.
