Two Carroll Residents Charged With Credit Card Fraud Enter Guilty Pleas

Two Carroll residents, who are accused of unauthorized use of a credit card, have reached a plea agreement with prosecutors and were sentenced last week. Jori Amber McConnell and Tyler John Thielsen, both 23 years old, faced two counts of credit card fraud each, an aggravated misdemeanor, in District Court for Carroll County for charging more than $300 to a stolen card at two Carroll businesses late last year. In exchange for their guilty pleas, one count of fraud was dismissed for both, and they were ordered to pay more than $750 each in fines, surcharges and restitution. Thielsen was placed on probation for a period of two years. McConnell was granted a deferred judgement, meaning court records regarding the case will be expunged, pending successful completion of her one-year probation.
