Truck Ends Up In Carroll Creek For Second Time In Just Over A Month

For the second time in a little over a month, a vehicle has ended up in a creek on the southeast edge of Carroll after failing to stop for a dead-end road. At approximately 9:22 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, the Carroll Police Department responded to the 100 block of Griffith Road to find a 2015 Ford Super Duty, driven by 23-year-old Darby Davis of Abilene, Texas, in the creek south of Pella Corporation. Authorities determined Davis had been traveling southbound on Griffith Road, struck a road sign and entered the creek, causing disabling damage. Davis was cited for failure to maintain control. On Jan. 11, a nearly identical accident occurred when a GPS device failed to notify another driver the roadway ended, and he drove his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado into the creek. No injuries were reported in either incident.
