Trial Start Date Scheduled For Carroll Man Accused Of Felony Drug Possession

The trial for a Carroll man accused of felony drug possession is scheduled to begin in six weeks’ time. According to Carroll County District Court records, 34-year-old Joseph Michael Billmeier faces one count of third-offense possession of methamphetamine, a class D felony which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and $7,500 in fines. The charge stems from an incident during the early morning hours of May 15 in Manning. Billmeier was taken into custody by the Manning Police Department after he was found in possession of a sunglasses case containing nearly six grams of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device, which tested positive for methamphetamine residue. The trial will commence on Nov. 19 with by a pretrial conference slated for Oct. 22 at the courthouse.
