Trial Information Filed Thursday Against Walnut Man Accused Of Stealing Over $1,500 From Carroll Walmart

Carroll County prosecutors have brought formal charges against a Walnut man accused of stealing more than $1,500-worth of products from the Carroll Walmart. Trial information for 50-year-old Bruce Allen Powell was filed Thursday in District Court for Carroll County. He faces two counts of third-degree theft, aggravated misdemeanors. The first count stems from an incident on April 15. Powell concealed $825 in products inside a mop bucket box and left without paying for the hidden items. On June 9, he attempted to steal more than $700-worth of products in the same manner but was caught in the act by officers with the Carroll Police Department. If found guilty, Powell faces a maximum penalty of four years in prison and $12,500 in fines. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for July 11 at the Carroll County Courthouse.
