Trial For Carroll Man Accused Of Assaulting A Carroll Woman While Wielding BB Gun Scheduled To Begin Later This Month

The jury trial for a Carroll man accused of breaking into an apartment and assaulting the resident while wielding a realistic-looking BB gun is scheduled to begin later this month. According to Carroll County District Court records, 24-year-old Duy Quang Vo faces one count of first-degree burglary, a class B felony. The charge stems from an incident on Jan. 19 at a residence in the 400 block of Valley Drive. Vo allegedly kicked his way into the victim’s apartment and waited for her to return. When she entered the apartment, Vo reportedly assaulted the victim while wielding a BB gun, which resembled a Glock 19 pistol. He was later taken into custody outside the residence and was also found in possession of a knife and hard-knuckled gloves. A pretrial conference was held earlier this week, and the parties were unable to reach a plea agreement. Without the opportunity for an out-of-court resolution, a judge ordered Quang’s trial to begin on Tuesday, March 26 at the Carroll County Courthouse. He remains in custody on a $25,000 bond. If found guilty, he faces a maximum penalty of up to 25 years in prison.
