Region XII Council of Governments has announced applications for project funding in support of statewide trails are being accepted through July 1. The Iowa Department of Transportation is appropriating $1.5 million for the state’s Fiscal Year 2020. Any public agency is eligible to apply. State agencies, counties, cities and non-profit organizations may sponsor applications. A minimum 25 percent match and a commitment to keeping the trail a public facility for a minimum of 20 years is required. Applications will need to be submitted by the due date via email by 5 p.m. or by U.S. mail and postmarked July 1. An email submission, however, must still be followed by a signed original of the completed application through the mail. More details and applications can be found below.
