Traffic Stop Leads To Pending Drug Charge For Carroll Man

A Carroll man was taken into custody on a potential drug charge following a traffic stop Friday evening in Carroll. At approximately 5:38 p.m., an officer with the Carroll Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville in the 900 block of East Highway 30. The officer determined the driver, 35-year-old Brandon Barringer, did not possess a valid driver’s license in Iowa. While he was being taken into custody, law enforcement also located a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Barringer was booked into the Carroll County jail for driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor, and the suspect material was sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory for testing. Additional charges are pending the return of those results.
