The grant application cycles for two well-known local philanthropic entities are now open. Iowa Savings Bank, the trustee for both the Warren H. Timmerman Charitable Trust and the Gilbert and Barbara Renze Charitable Foundation, will be taking applications now through 4:30 p.m. on July 5. Applicants for any of these grants must be a 501(c)(3) charity or other qualified entity such as a municipality. Awards for the Warren H. Timmerman grants will be made to charitable purposes within Carroll County, and half of these will be reserved for the Manning area. Applications for the Renze grants must be for charitable causes within Sac and Carroll County. Packets and more information are available through the contact points included here. Grant recipients will be announced in July or August, and with the 2019 cycle, the Timmerman Trust will have distributed more than $1.8 million and the Renze Foundation over $650,000.
