The Carroll Police Department responded to a second two-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon, this one at approximately 3:02 p.m. at the intersection of Maple and 3rd Streets. Seventy-year-old Barbara Hackfort of Carroll was driving westbound on third in a 2014 GMC Terrain and a 2009 Buick Enclave, driven by 37-year-old Channon Kelly of Carroll, was southbound on Maple. Kelly had stopped for a stop sign and was entering the intersection, reporting she did not see the oncoming Terrain. Due to icy road conditions, Hackfort was unable to avoid the collision and struck the passenger side of the Kelly Enclave. The impact caused the Kelly vehicle to hit another vehicle at the Maple Street stop sign, a 2016 Toyota Rav4, driven by 73-year-old Sue Way of Carroll. No injuries were reported, but all three vehicles were disabled. Kelly was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
