A 13-year-old Storm Lake male has been charged and an investigation is ongoing into a case of indecent photographs being distributed through social media. The Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Middle School at approximately 9:10 a.m. Monday in reference to obscene photographs. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 13-year-old male had been sending obscene photographs of himself to other juveniles via Snapchat. The suspect was processed and charged with dissemination and exhibition of obscene materials, a serious misdemeanor. He was later released to a parent pending a date in juvenile court. Additional arrests and/or charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
