The Market Place In Manning Is Collecting Supplies For Hamburg Flood Victims

As more and more stories reveal the needs of thousands of people in Iowa and Nebraska suffering major losses from the devastating floods, local communities continue to pull together to do what they can to help our neighbors. Jaime England, owner of The Market Place in Manning, is no exception. She has organized a donation drive after contacting the mayor’s office in Hamburg. Although the community has no running water, heat or gas, clean-up efforts continue. The school still has electricity, and classes were scheduled to resume today (Wednesday) in an effort to provide some normalcy for the children of Hamburg. Although clothing supplies are not a concern at this time, England and her team have gathered information and put together a list of the items most needed that include things like water, ready-to-eat meals, coffee, diapers and baby supplies (other than clothing), pet food, space heaters and more. The full list can be found with this story on our website. Donations will be collected through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Main Street Manning location. On Friday, March 22, they will transport the supplies to Hamburg.
