The Carroll County Board of Supervisors canvassed the 2019 municipal and school board elections Tuesday morning. This included the drawing of a winner in the sole tied race in county, that for Mayor of Willey. The votes were tied at 17 all for John Guinan and Kristen Nehring. The standard procedure in this case is for the names to be put on papers of equal size and one is to be drawn from a box. Supervisor Dean Schettler drew the name of John Guinan, who will serve the two-year term. Carroll County Auditor, Kourtney Irlbeck, says she was pleased with the state’s decision to combine the two elections this year into one.
This also eliminated the need for a special meeting of the supervisors to certify the separate elections. No other changes were made to what was reported on election night. All of those results can be found on the Carroll Broadcasting website.
