Storm Lake Officers Draw Weapons On Man Wielding Two Butcher Knives

An 18 and 16 year old were terrorized and Storm Lake Police Officers were forced to draw their weapons last Saturday on a man wielding butcher knives. Authorities responded to the scene at approximately 2:53 p.m. and were told the teenagers had traveled to the residence of 20-year-old Jorge Ulises Murillo for the purpose of purchasing an electronic gaming device. They paid $200 for the game, at which time Murillo allegedly locked himself inside and would not produce the item purchased. They attempted to coerce Murillo to give them the game for about two hours, then stated they were going to call the police. At that point, Murillo, armed with a butcher knife in each hand, approached the victims and threatened to kill them as they sat in their car. Murillo was allegedly running around the parked vehicle with the knives and punching on the windows in an effort to gain entry. No injuries were reported, but Murillo was arrested and charged with two counts of going armed with intent, class D felonies, and fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County jail on a $10,300 bond.
