Storm Lake Man Being Held Without Bail After Choking And Threatening To Kill His Wife Sunday

A Storm Lake man has been arrested for choking and threatening to kill his wife. The Storm Lake Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday. The victim told authorities that 40-year-old William Rysavy trapped her in a bedroom and began physically assaulting her. He allegedly threw her on the bed, began choking her while telling her he would kill her if she called the police. Rysavy then fled, at which time the authorities were notified. The victim was transported by ambulance to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries. Rysavy was spotted in his vehicle and stopped at Chautauqua Park and taken into custody without further incident. He has been charged with domestic abuse assault, impeding the flow of air and first-degree harassment, both aggravated misdemeanors, and false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County jail and is being held without bond. Buena Vista County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
