Storm Lake Man Arrested For Allegedly Sending Harassing And Threatening Texts

A Storm Lake man was taken into custody late last week for allegedly sending threatening messages. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, two individuals contacted law enforcement at approximately 7:50 a.m. Thursday to report they had received harassing and threatening texts from 36-year-old Adam Ferrin. One victim told authorities Ferrin had sent them multiple unwanted messages, and the other individual says they received a message from him saying they were going to be killed. Law enforcement deemed these threats credible and learned the suspect may be armed with a handgun. On Thursday afternoon, Ferrin was observed driving a motor vehicle and multiple officers responded, taking him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Buena Vista County jail and charged with first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor, and third-degree harassment, a simple misdemeanor. Ferrin was also wanted on an outstanding Buena Vista County arrest warrant for failure to appear in reference to a controlled substance violation. He remains in custody on a $4,300 bond. The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
