Snow And Sun Causes For Three-Vehicle Collision Monday In Carroll

Snow cover and the sun are being attributed as possible causes of a minor accident in Carroll on Monday. The Carroll Police Department responded to 12th and Main Streets at approximately 7:48 a.m. The initial investigation revealed that 35-year-old Bobbie Onken of Carroll was facing east on 12th Street in a 2010 Saturn Outlook, waiting for traffic. Another vehicle, a 2014 Toyota Camry, driven by 70-year-old Dianne Battani of Carroll, was also headed east on 12th, but Battani failed to stop in time and struck the back of the Onken vehicle. While waiting for an officer to arrive on the scene, however, a 2000 Buick Century, driven by 15-year-old Harley Wiederin of Carroll, struck the rear of the Battani Camry. Minor damages to all three vehicles were reported and there was a complaint of possible minor injuries from the occupant(s) of the Onken vehicle.
