Small Monthly Fee Required To Now Receive 24-Hour Access To Carroll Rec Center

Carroll Rec Center members, over the age of 18, are now able to opt for 24-hour access to the fitness area of the facility for a nominal fee of an additional $10 per month. City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, says there will be specific parameters with which users will need to abide; one of which is not sharing your entrance fob with anyone else.

He adds that the Carroll City Council believes they had a good discussion on the topic and that they have a suitable policy in place. However, this will be one of those fluid types of plans.

There is a special entrance for access after-hours.

And though access to the whole facility is limited, patrons wishing to use the fitness area during those unmanned times can still utilize key portions.

According to Pogge-Weaver, the center has added two different levels of security for this measure. They incorporated more cameras to eliminate blind spots in the common areas. They also integrated a number of proximity card access point door locks. This controls the ability to freely move between a variety of areas. For example, the pool doors will automatically lock, even if an employee forgets to do so. Those interested can go now to the Rec Center and sign up for the access and receive their key fob.
