Senators Grassley And Ernst Seek Federal Assistance With Propane Delivery Issues

U.S. Senators, Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst, have requested assistance from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in an effort to prioritize propane pipeline shipments into Iowa. An increase in the number of residents reaching out to their representatives about the insufficient supply has driven them to seek a solution to the private distribution problem. “On behalf of our constituents, including farmers and businesses in Iowa, who are struggling to receive the necessary propane supplies needed to maintain safety for human health, sustain livestock and poultry, dry harvested grain and operate manufacturing businesses, we ask for your attention to the propane supply issue in our region. As temperatures continue to drop, the need for continued supply of propane is critically important for all Iowans,” the senators wrote. Although the nationwide supply is adequate, the ability to get it to those in need is not, and this is just one more issue compounding the difficulties faced by producers with the late harvest, cold weather, trade disputes and tariffs.
