School Board Election Results For Carroll County Voters

There were several area school districts that had contested races for their board of education seats and results from all counties associated with each school are now in with the final, unofficial results reported. Coon Rapids-Bayard had four seats on the ballot Tuesday with six candidates vying for the spots. Kyler South brought in the most votes at 341, followed closely by Timothy Owen Lee with 331. The other two vacancies will go to Jason Rosenbeck with 281 votes and Teresa Gelhaus with 277. There were six candidates in the running for three open positions on the East Sac County Community School District board. The only contested race within the city of Carroll this election was for three seats on the Carroll Community School District Board of Education with five candidates running. Two incumbents have lost their bid for reelection as Onica Ulveling tallied the highest number of votes at 1,498. She was followed by Karen Friedlein, who was appointed last fall to fill a spot vacated by Gina Badding. She received 1,127 total votes and newcomer, Cindy Johnson rounded out the top three with 1,077 votes. Incumbents, Brad Jorgensen and Jon Sampson, ended election night with 807 and 748 votes respectively. Uncontested races included IKM-Manning who had three districts and one at-large position open and these went to Roger Rasmussen in District 2B, David Heller in District 2A, Beth C. Williams in District 1A and Zachary J. Meiners in the at-large spot. The Glidden-Ralston School District has elected Mike Schulze, Todd Koehler and Christopher J. Soyer to their board and Ar-We-Va’s newly elected directors are Brad R. Hinners, Gregg Oeser and Denise Ragaller. South Central Calhoun’s two positions in District 1 have been filled by Roger McKinney and Jason Hawkins and the two in District 2 by Chris Green and Judy Hungate.
