Debris in the roadway is blamed for a single-vehicle accident Thursday west of Jefferson. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 30 and J Avenue at approximately 5:06 p.m. Forty-three-year-old Brett Ford of Glidden told the deputy that he had swerved to miss hitting a piece of metal that had fallen off of another vehicle and he struck the guardrail with his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. No injuries were reported, but there was an estimated $3,000 in damage done to the pickup.
