Report Released Friday Suggest Flu Season May Be Coming To An End

According to a report released Friday by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), flu season in Iowa may be coming to an end. Officials say the geographic spread of influenza is now down to the local level after 11 weeks of widespread activity, which peaked from late February to early April. Only one school reported absences over 10 percent due to illness last week, and hospitalizations were down to 38 per 10,000 during the same timeframe, compared to 189 per 10,000 at the end of February.
