Weather Causes Delay in Distribution Of Proceeds From 22nd Annual Bishop’s Dinner

The annual Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Schools raised more than $95,000, $17,000 of that in ticket sales. Those proceeds were scheduled to be distributed at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City today (Thursday) to the 16 Catholic schools in the diocese, including the Kuemper Catholic School System. Inclement weather across the state, however, has necessitated a delay in those awards. The Sioux City Diocese will be making the announcement on the new date in the near future. The 22nd annual Bishop’s Dinner was held on Oct. 21, and is the single biggest fundraiser of the year. The money raised at the dinner comes from a combination of ticket sales and sponsors, with $80 of every ticket going back to the school of the buyer’s choice. The schools can use these grants for textbooks and technology.
