Probation Revoked For Rockwell City Man After Walking Away From Rehab Facility

Probation has been revoked for a Rockwell City man in Carroll County District Court and he will now be spending up to 10 years in prison. Thirty-year-old Bradley James Barringer, who has also claimed residency in Brayton, was originally sentenced on March 26 for second-degree burglary after pleading guilty to thefts reported on Nov. 6, 2018. Barringer was found in possession of items stolen from a Lidderdale home and after trying to pawn goods, including a mini bike, stolen from a Carroll business. At the time of his sentencing, he was also charged in Webster County with the theft of a pickup truck and about $1,200 in cash that was in it. A condition of Barringer’s probation was serving up to 180 days in a residential treatment facility, however, on April 30, he checked out of the Fort Dodge facility to go shopping at Walmart and never returned. On May 5, a criminal complaint was filed in Pottawattamie County when Barringer was seen removing a vaping device, valued at $150, from a vehicle behind a Casey’s store in Council Bluffs. He was later apprehended at a laundromat nearby and charged with third-degree burglary. In addition to serving his original sentence, Barringer has been ordered to pay all court costs and fines in excess of $1,000.
