Presidential Candidate, John Delaney, Says The Country Needs A “Unifier In Chief”

Democratic Presidential candidate, John Delaney, made his 28th visit to Iowa this week. He says there is a central question that not only the state residents, but that all citizens of the country are facing right now—how do we address the divisiveness in our nation?

If elected, Delaney says in his first 100 days, he would champion five or six big ideas. These would be entirely based on bipartisan bills in Congress.

He says he would also call for the biggest and most ambitious national service program in history.

Delaney would also call for the President to debate Congress once per quarter, saying we need that kind of transparency around the truth. He also says he will behave in a way that sets the right tone at the top.

Delaney served as a member of the House of Representatives for Maryland from 2013 until January of this year. He did not run for re-election after announcing his 2020 presidential campaign. Since 2017, he has traveled to all 99 Iowa counties at least one time. We will bring you more from Delaney on his universal healthcare and Heartland Fair Deal proposals and his thoughts on the trade war in upcoming broadcasts.
