Parking Ordinances Will Dominate Discussion At Monday’s Carroll City Council Meeting

Monday’s Carroll City Council meeting will be taking place at a special location, beginning at 5:15 p.m. at the Carroll Fire Station on Bella Vista Drive. There is a light agenda for this meeting and City Manager, Mike Pogge-Weaver, explains one of the items included in the consent agenda portion. Staff members have been working on an amendment to the purchase of City Apartments on North Main Street that was originally slated for a July closing.

The council will also be revisiting the discussion from their last meeting about a change to parking ordinances on the west side of Adams Elementary School. At their previous meeting, the district received approval for the removal of the south crosswalk and curbing along the east side of Adams Street, allowing space for two additional buses to be able to pull in to load and unload students. Pogge-Weaver says now they need to determine exactly how many handicap and regular spaces should be incorporated to create a safe pathway around the remaining crosswalk at 11th Street.

The council members will also be presented with reasoning for another parking ordinance change request; this one at Crawford and 6th Streets and Highway 30, around the new Dupaco Community Credit Union building.

In addition, they will review for potential approval some end of fiscal year fund transfers. Pogge-Weaver says these take place every year, and he will be presenting good news to the council.

The public is encouraged to attend Monday’s meeting. A link to the full packet of information can be found below.
