No Injuries When Car Collides With Stalk Cutter Friday

No one was injured but the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services were all called to an accident on Highway 30 Friday evening. At approximately 5:44 p.m., 81-year-old David Hickle of Boone was driving eastbound on 30 in a 2005 Ford Taurus, near the intersection with Orchard Avenue east of Jefferson. He struck an eastbound M-C stalk cutter that was being pulled by a 1995 Case IH 7240 tractor driven by 48-year-old Timothy Tucker of Jefferson. There was an estimated $10,000 of damage done to the stalk cutter and $1,500 to the Taurus. Hinkle was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
