No Injuries In Another Vehicle/Semi Accident On Noble Avenue And 18th Street

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon that occurred at the same intersection a Carroll woman lost her life in August. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Noble Avenue and 18th Street, just to the northeast of Carroll, at approximately 1:31 p.m. Upon arrival, an investigation was initiated that revealed 18-year-old Dayna Melissa Vandewalker of Strawberry Point was driving eastbound on 18th Street in a 2011 Dodge Caliber. A 2014 Peterbilt semi-tractor trailer, driven by 47-year-old Robbie William Christiansen of Ireton, was northbound on Noble Avenue. Vandewalker attempted to execute a left-hand turn onto Noble, but did not yield for the semi. Christiansen was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision and the Caliber hit the trailer. Vandewalker was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. There was an estimated $4,500 in damage to the Dodge and $500 to the semi’s trailer.
