Every area school has scheduled their first day of classes for Friday, Aug. 23, and New Opportunities is ready to help families get their children prepared with a free health clinic. On Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., they will be offering free health screenings, school physicals—including those for sports and preschool children—dental, vision and developmental screenings, immunizations, lead testing, haircuts and more to students in preschool through 12th grade. New Opportunities staff members will also be able to assist with providing health insurance information and community agency referrals as needed.
