As the Democratic field of presidential candidates continues to grow, more and more are making their way to the first-in-the-nation caucus state. New Jersey Senator, Cory Booker, threw his hat in the ring last Friday, Feb. 1, and just one week later is arriving to campaign in Iowa. His Iowa Rise tour will focus on introducing Iowans to his record of running towards challenges when others have given up, bringing people together to do big things and building a more fair and just nation for everyone. “American’s faith is shaken,” Booker says. “Right now, people fear that the lines that divide us are growing stronger than the ties that bind us.” Booker believes the answer to our common problems is to reignite a common purpose. Booker’s two day tour, on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 8 and Feb. 9, will begin in Mason City Friday morning. He will then travel to Waterloo, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City that day. On Saturday, Booker will host a meet-and-greet in Marshalltown and attend the Rising Leadership Forum in Des Moines.
