More than 2,750 local 4-H members are the beneficiaries of over $41,250 in donations from the NEW Cooperative Foundation. The money is used to cover half of each 4-H youth’s dues in the NEW Cooperative trade territory. This includes the local counties of Carroll, Calhoun, Crawford and Greene. (As well as Webster, Franklin, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Hamilton, Kossuth, Cherokee, Plymouth, Monona, Wright and Woodbury.) Communications Director, Gary Moritz, says in a news release that NEW Cooperative takes great pride in supporting the area 4-H youth programs and they strongly believe these young people are the foundation for future leadership in local communities.
