Preparations for the annual Dedham Celebration are nearly complete, and organizers are excited for the fun they have planned at next weekend’s event. For more than 75 years, friends and families have gathered at the ballfield park in last weekend of June to raise funds for community organizations, and that tradition will continue on Saturday, June 29. Mark Kitt and Mike Heinrichs are leading the planning committee for the 2019 celebration. Kitt says they have always put an emphasis on fun for the whole family and that has not changed this year.
Kitt adds the fun is not limited to just the kids. They have plenty of activities planned to keep the adult attendees entertained, as well.
The celebration fully gets underway with the opening of the beer garden, bingo, games of chance and concessions at 5 p.m. One of last year’s most popular events, the ATV pull, is set to begin at 3 p.m with registration starting at 2 p.m. Kitt says they will cap off the night with a full-blown fireworks display.
Money generated during the Dedham Celebration will be used to benefit the Dedham American Legion Family, Dedham Fire Department and Dedham Booster Club. For more info on next Saturday’s events, follow the link included with this story on our website.
