More Than $164,000 In Grants Presented To Area Non-Profits And Municipalities

Twenty-seven grants from three different programs have been awarded to Carroll County non-profits and municipalities, totaling more than $164,000. The Community Foundation of Carroll County announced the grant awards at their annual meeting last week and they included over $100,000 through the County Endowment program, over $20,000 from the Endowment Fund and another $43,000 through the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. There was a second-year donation to the Carroll Public Library Foundation of $20,000 and just slightly over $20,000 to Kellan’s Kingdom to be used towards the total needed for the Miracle Field project. Carroll County Conservation will get $9,000 for paving projects on Sauk Rail Trail crossings and $8,000 grants went to Carroll Area Child Care Center, the City of Dedham, and the City of Templeton for playground upgrades, ball field renovations and park improvements respectively. Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation Grant

In an awards ceremony on April 1st at the Wild Rose Casino, the Community Foundation of Carroll County will receive a check for the $43,047.00 grant from the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. The CFCC Board awarded these Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation 2019 grant funds to the following recipients, including the second installment of a multi-year grant pledge of $100,000 going to the Carroll Public Library Foundation:

Carroll County Genealogical Society          Digitalize historic Carroll Co. newspapers  $3,000.00

Kellans Kingdom       Toward Miracle Field for special needs kids and adults    $20,047.00

Carroll Public Library Foundation    Modernize and enlarge county library (Year Two) $20,000.00             

Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation continues to generously shared a portion of the proceeds it receives from the Wild Rose Casino, Jefferson, IA to the surrounding county community foundations. Other recipients include foundations in Webster, Boone, Dallas, Calhoun, and Guthrie counties.
