Monday Afternoon Collision In Calhoun County Claims The Live Of Ankeny Man

A Monday afternoon accident northeast of Lytton claimed the life of an Ankeny man. The Iowa State Patrol reports they responded to U.S. Highway 20, east of Granite Avenue, at approximately 4 p.m. Their initial investigation found that two vehicles were driving eastbound on Highway 20. A 2019 Dodge van, driven by Forrest Quintin Fromm of West Des Moines, was behind 83-year-old Arthur Roger Newberry, who was driving a 2011 Ford SUV. When Fromm looked behind him to change lanes, he ran into the rear of the Newberry vehicle. Newberry lost control and the SUV hit the south shoulder and rolled several times. Newberry was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. There were no injuries listed for Fromm. The Lytton and Rockwell City Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
