Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Carroll. The Carroll Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Highway 30 and Main Street at approximately 3:24 p.m. An initial investigation shows a 2017 Ford Explorer, driven by 33-year-old Ulises Carrasco Martinez of Denison, was traveling westbound on the inside lane of the highway. At the same time, a 2019 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, operated by 84-year-old Lililan Nieland of Carroll, was also traveling westbound in the outside lane. Nieland attempted to change lanes and struck the Martinez SUV on the passenger side, causing functional damage to both vehicles. Nieland reported possible minor injures and was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment. She was also issued a citation for improper lane change.
