Last Full CCSD Board of Education Meeting Of FY 2020 Scheduled For Tuesday

The second-to-last meeting of the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 is scheduled to be held later this week on Tuesday, June 18. Following approval of the consent agenda and public forum, the board will move into their first discussion item, school improvement reports based on reading and math test results. Preliminary numbers show increases in both categories for all but one grade level between preschool and sixth-grade. Next on the agenda is administrative reports. The board will review staff and student handbook revisions and formally approve the teacher and support association contracts for FY 2020. These contracts, which establish base wages, will remain in effect through June 30, 2021. They will also consider revisions to several board policies and discuss the implementation of the Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA) program, which offers lessons in self-esteem, learning strategies, time management, networking, jobs and money lessons. The final items on the include proposals for a new control room in the high school gymnasium and replacement of the district-wide radio systems. Tuesday’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in media center at the high school. The last meeting of the year is planned for June 27 to wrap up final bills.
