The Lake View Water Carnival is just under three months away, but the organizing committee is ready to start celebrating the community’s summer bash a little early this year. This coming weekend, they will be hosting a pre-party for the public. Scott Peterson, a member of the carnival committee, says everyone is invited to join them for free pizza and wings and information on Lake View’s largest annual event.
This will mark the 66th year Lake View has hosted the Water Carnival. According to Peterson, the celebration has seen a lot of attractions come and go over the years, but it has held on to many of its most popular traditions.
Peterson adds the same people have been helping put on the Water Carnival for a long time. It takes a lot of work to put on the event, and he says they hope to bring in some newer faces this year.
The informational and volunteer appreciation event begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Thirsty Carp and everybody is welcome to attend. The 66th Annual Lake View Water Carnival is scheduled for the third weekend of July, from July 19 through July 21.
