City staff in Lake View will begin flushing hydrants later this week as part of their annual effort to clear rust buildup in the community’s water mains. The process gets underway on Wednesday, May 15, and it will take two full days for public works employees to access all 93 of the town’s fire hydrants. Flushing will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each of the days. The most common issue will be rusty water in your pipes, but it is unlikely customers will experience any disruptions in service. Officials advise resident who see off-colored water to turn on the faucets or spigots nearest to the water main and run them until the water is clear again.
