The Lake View Police Department is offering a free concealed carry permit class for Sac County residents later this month. The course will be held at Lake View City Hall on Sunday, Nov. 24, beginning at 6 p.m. Brad Wendt, a Lake View police officer and Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) certified firearms instructor, will be teaching the course. While there is no cost to attend, freewill donations will be collected for the Eilert Auen Post 133 American Legion in Lake View. Interested participants are asked to register by Friday, Nov. 22 by sending an email to lvpd@lakeviewlifestyle.com.
